Method of "Custom-Sizing"

Kvar Energy Savings, Inc. holds the patent for the sizing apparatus. KVAR NATIONAL uses a Hioki 3197 Power Quality Analyzer. With these tools, the Power Factor is optimized, custom-sizing the correct amount of capacitance needed to each inductive load.

The apparatus is connected in parallel to the inductive load, load side of the contactor. While watching the current and Power Factor values on the Analyzer, switches are thrown on the apparatus to “tune in” the correct amount of capacitance needed to bring the load Power Factor to Unity. This dynamic method eliminates the need for costly and time-consuming Engineering studies.

Installing Kvar reduces your electrical consumption without harming your motors. If you pay Demand Charges, these may also be reduced.
